Patience (cover)

Anita left us early Friday night to try and beat the storm home...but she was too late. She also left her sun-roof open, so she had soggy bottoms by the time she got home. Chuck and I had one more left in us and we gave Patience another shot.

Patience (practice)

So Chuck taught me Patience on Tuesday but I didn't get to practice this week. Anita on the other hand, she has NEVER heard this song. The song doesn't even have drums on the original track. First time hearing the song and she was able to add drums to it on the fly and make it sound REALLY good. This video hear is what our practice jam session is like...

Don't Look Back In Anger (acoustic)

We played I Alone (posted below) and then stayed on the acoustics and worked on Don't Look Back In Anger by Oasis.

I Alone (acoustic)

Grilled some burgers, Anita brought some queso...it was a good Friday night. We screwed around with Come Out and Play and Porch. Then we moved to the acoustics and we played some I Alone.

I couldn't sleep...

Messing around with rhythm and lead and video. Oh well, it was a good thought :)

Songs for thought?

So I, Anita, am actually posting on our blog. Shocking no? So I know we have so many songs we're working on, but I wanted your input on Oasis "Live Forever" (some fun solos can be extended) and Cake "I Will Survive" (GREAT bass part in song). I'll work on Creep, Porch, Your Love's drum part while singing, and I alone.

Kids Aren't Allright

I've become addicted to this song now :) I've been learning it by ear and I have a transcription of it just about done. I'll post it as soon as I write it all down. Oh yeah, and Frank, no cheating with online TABS :)

I Alone

After some not so great attempts at Don't Look Back In Anger and Better Man, we finished off the night with some Live. I screwed up the ending trying to get some feedback...accidentally muted the sound and blew it. Was a good laugh though...

Hey folks,

I've been practicing a little Offspring. I know Anita really likes them, and I've been messing around more with your love. Anyhow, that's my focus this week. Come Out and Play and Your Love.

Jam Riffs 1 and 2

Here is a couple of riffs I came up with from our jam last Saturday. I kinda liked them so I wanted to make sure I didn't forget them like all the others. Now it is up to you guys to come up with some beats, licks and phat base lines for them. Still not feeling great, so I didn't work on them or try to perfect them. For a lack of a better name, heres Riff 1:

And Riff 2:

I Alone: The Lost Files

Chuck thought there was more to our jam session a couple weeks ago. I went back over the tape and found our I Alone jam and then another full cover of it. So without further adu...

I Alone, we're just jammin' at the bridge and letting Chuck do his thing.

After the jam we gave the cover a shot.

10 Awesome Guitarists You Should Know

A friend passed this link on to me...and now I do the same to you. As is the never-ending-circle of the interweb.
Oh sure, I could talk all day about Jimi Hendrix, Prince, Jimmy Page, Steve Vai, Brian May, Carlos Santana, Eddie Van Halen, Slash and the rest of them - all of them great guitarists. But these guitarists are the commercial heroes, and it’s about time to move the spotlight over to a few guitarists who have perhaps been overlooked by the general public for far too long. Thanks to the wonders of YouTube, I don’t have to make each and every one of you a mix tape.

Let’s get on with it, then… in no particular order, 10 guitarists you should really check out before you die: [ FULL ARTICLE ]
Jose Feliciano's "The Flight of the Bumble Bee" video is amazing!

Getting ready to give I Alone a try and we just jammed for a bit...

My Own Worst Enemy (cover)

And once again...Lit...

Better Man (cover)

Once again...still working on Better Man. Kind of liking the sound with both electrics. And now with back up vocals...

Your Love (cover)

Had some more fun last night. Chuck got us started by playing the opening riff for Your Love by the Outfied. Then Anita brought her iPod and played it and here is what happened:

Got a couple more from this evening to post, so check back.

Drummers

This one is for Anita...for those of you who don't know her, this is the high quality standard for the art of drumming that she strives for! All you gotta do is watch the drummer is the vid. Great stuff!
